Privacy Policy

Plain-language, because you shouldn't need a lawyer to read a newsletter.

Effective date: July 19, 2026 · Applies to northernsignal.ca and the Northern Signal newsletter

What we collect

When you subscribe, we ask for your first name, last name, organization, and email address. That's the only personal information we ask for, and we only get it because you typed it in.

Like most websites, our infrastructure also processes standard technical data (IP address, browser type) to serve pages and block abuse.

Why we collect it

Where your information lives

These providers may process data on servers outside Canada. We don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information — to anyone, ever.

Cookies

We don't set tracking cookies of our own. Cloudflare Turnstile may set a cookie strictly to perform its security check.

How long we keep it

For as long as you're subscribed. Unsubscribe (there's a link in every email) and we stop mailing you; ask us to delete your record entirely and we will.

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent at any time. Email welcome @ northernsignal . ca and we'll respond promptly.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and note the new effective date above. Material changes will be mentioned in the newsletter.
